  The brief? To launch a fun, interactive site for 7-11-year-olds to bring them closer to the brand. To excite and engage children while motivating them to reduce their impact on the environment – and to serve as a revenue stream for WWF that would support their existing offering.
  
  Our deliverables included proposition development, creative concept, screen design, HTML and CMS build, and we continue to support the Go Wild site with online updates.

  A name synonymous with luxury on a global scale, Christie’s appointed August to relaunch their existing Christie’s International Real Estate magazine, and to increase its appeal by introducing beautiful, relevant, independent content in which to showcase their stunning portfolio of properties.
  
  The result is a high-quality, sumptuous visual feast of some of the world’s most expensive and sought-after real estate. We also produce a bespoke iPad App.

  The OU appointed August to relaunch their existing alumni magazine. We gave it a new name and a massive design overhaul to better reflect the University’s dynamic culture.
  
  The result is a communication tool that works. It encourages students to keep in touch and further their study, and promotes word-of-mouth referrals to tuition as well as donations to the legacy of the University: a charity for future generations.

  This vocational awarding body is one of our longest standing clients. Why? Because we never stand still. We always ask, ‘What’s next?’

  Algeta is a fast-growing Norwegian pharmaceutical company focused on developing novel targeted therapies for patients with cancer.
  
  Following a competitive pitch, August was appointed to create Algeta's annual report 2013 as well as design and develop a new corporate website, reflecting the company’s transition into a strong global player in cancer therapies. We created a narrative that complies with all necessary regulation while telling the company's story in an engaging way.

  Metro – the world’s largest newspaper with 18 million daily readers – is a global brand with big ambitions. As a publisher, a huge part of their business is attracting advertisers.
  
  The Metro International corporate website is the first port of call for advertisers looking to partner with Metro. Our brief was to bring a contemporary look and feel to the metro.lu website, while presenting relevant information to potential advertisers in a clear and logical manner.

  Synonymous with elegance and innovation, Ligne Roset has been working with August for six years.
  
  Together we identified the need to fully integrate Ligne Roset’s site structure as both a business and commercial tool, allowing the company to maintain control as it expanded globally without sacrificing local market differences.
  
  August received the IF Communication Design Award for the Ligne Roset UK website. Ligne Roset has adopted August’s creative vision across all regional websites.

  Butlins may be a name steeped in nostalgia, but the Butlins experience has never been more ‘now’.
  
  They told us they needed to breathe new life into the brand, as well as increase bookings, deliver extra value to loyal customers and drive incremental revenue.
  
  We delivered. For the last five years, bookings have been up and yield per booking is increasing year on year.

  Peace Camp is a large-scale biennial art installation that celebrates poetry, the English language and the beauty of the British coastline. Part of the London 2012 festival, the main criterion for the site was to ensure minimal user effort while encouraging maximum interactions – all from a global audience.
  
  The ultimate accolade, the Peace Camp site has been selected to be a part of the British Library’s prestigious UK Web Archive.

  Milkround is the UK’s largest graduate recruitment website. As a platform, Milkround services candidates as well as the large brands looking to recruit them.
  
  August was tasked with developing the online strategy, interface design and technical implementation for the new iteration of milkround.com. The site was developed using Episerver and provides a wealth of modern tools for candidates and recruiters alike.
  
  Features including profile management, advanced search capabilities and community tools are delivered across all devices.

  When Warner Leisure Hotels approached August, they were looking for much more than just a typical holiday brochure – they also wanted a revamped photo library, a new style of photography, a clear tone of voice, a new creative direction and a new ‘big idea’ thrown in.
  
  They came to the right people. August helped drive a massive increase in revenue and delivered Warner’s most successful ever DM piece.

  Krones appointed us to relaunch their corporate site (along with various microsites), to reach diverse key audiences and reflect their global stature.
  
  Our solution consolidated their sub-brands and met the international framework requirements – 35 country sites with multiple languages.
  
  We delivered a flexible CMS, with a simple user journey. Our work included a new brand identity – typography, colours, images and tone of voice.

  Innovative design and architecture company Bryden Wood wanted originality with a minimal interface. Our approach was centred around three key areas: navigation, look and feel, and technical originality.
  
  The result was a fresh design and a slideshow-based navigation concept, built using a combination of HTML, JavaScript and CSS. A bespoke CMS also allowed Bryden Wood to easily update key areas of the site themselves. Success was compounded when the site was shortlisted for the 2010 British Interactive Media Award.

August’s Completely London magazine shortlisted for PPA Award

August’s Completely London magazine, produced on behalf of estate agents Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward, has been shortlisted for Customer Magazine of the Year at the 2013 PPA Awards.

Since its 2009 launch, Completely London has scooped four APA Awards, Marketing Magazine voted it one of the top media brands of 2010 and editor Donna Hardie won BSME Editor of the Year for its category in 2011.

August relaunches Renault’s test-drive site

drive.renault.co.uk is a website designed for Renault’s retail customers. The objective of the site is to increase footfall to dealerships through the online booking of test drives.

Initial results from tests conducted to measure the performance of the new website are extremely positive. The step-by-step booking process already shows an uplift of 28% in visitors completing the journey to the final step.

Renault’s Manager, Brand Communications (Digital), Matt Lamprell, said: “Test drives are among the strongest leads that we’re able to provide to our dealer network through renault.co.uk. We know that it’s a significant step in the purchase process, so we want to make it as simple and efficient as possible for our customers. The initial results have shown a great uplift and we look forward to seeing this convert into increased sales.”

Marathon cake eating session at August HQ

Not only is our lovely receptionist Tasha running the London Marathon at the weekend, but she also baked some delicious cakes to help raise money for Help the Hospices.

Never ones to turn down the chance to help a good cause, the August Media team ate £214 of the bestest cakes we’ve had in a long time – the carrot and lemon drizzle cakes being particular favourites. No chance us fatties are running anywhere soon. Or fast.

All the money that Tasha raises is going to Help the Hospices, who nursed her grandmother. She’s already reached her target of £2000 by hosting a band night in her local village.

Two members of staff at August have been nominated for the British Society of Magazine Editors’ Rising Star Awards.

Janetta Willis has been shortlisted in the Best Subbing Team category, in recognition of her work on Kinleigh Folkard and Hayward’s Completely London. And Giulia Galati has been nominated in the Best Picture Editor/Researcher category for her work on live for IKEA FAMILY, KFH’s Completely London and Ocado SHOP.

The BSME is the UK’s most prestigious editorial society and the awards are voted for by esteemed members of the magazine, editorial and design community.

App launched for Christie’s International Real Estate

August has launched an iPad app for Christie’s International Real Estate. The fully bespoke app launched on 15 March and is available for free through the iTunes App Store.

The app recreates the content produced for the Christie’s International Real Estate magazine, provides links to properties for sale, and allows the reader to connect directly with Christie’s International Real Estate’s affiliated agents across the world.

At August we like good things – chocolate on Wednesdays, a kitchen stocked with fairtrade tea. We also like good ideas. An idea shared with us by many of our clients is that being green is good, but being sustainable is better. For us, being sustainable isn’t doing big, one-off green gestures, it’s doing small, sometimes mundane, everyday things, every day. So we might not be perfect now, but we’ll keep trying to get better at everything from recycling and reducing the energy we use, to supporting local charities and investing in internships. That way, we hope to make the kind of change that will last.
